The Hollywood
Theatre Case# 042107

The Hollywood
Theater in Tyler, Texas seems to be your typical multiplex. On the first
floor is the concession area along with the theaters themselves. Upstairs
is there is a game room and party room. This is also where the projection
hallways are located. The projection hallways are decorated in a way
you would expect such as old movie posters all about, the high buzz
of the electrical equipment, movie reels and etc. But other things have
been spotted in the upstairs area as well that are not related to the
current showings. This sighting is said to be that of a figure in a
yellow colored shirt and baggy clothes seen by several of the employees.
During the interview before the investigation, the same entity was seen
by one of Tyler RIP's investigators. There was also an evp captured
during this interview. The investigation itself took place on April
21, 2007 after closing. The team was given a walk through of the theater
by one of the projection operators and a run down on the events that
had happen. Among these said events were doorknobs rattling, a screen
curtain closing on its own in one of the theaters, feelings of being
watched, and other happenings of the sort. Video equipment and motion
detection lights were set up and teams of two to three split up to investigate
different areas of the building in rotation. The areas included where
the upstairs projection areas and different theaters. In theater number
ten, an investigator heard loud banging sounds from the up stair area
or ceiling. It was also recorded that the motion detector was tripped
off when no one was present. Several pictures were taken with cameras
and also digital recorders were used for evp work. However, due to the
buzzing of all the projection equipment and an alarm that kept going
off at a nearby business, anything that might have been collected on
the digital voice recorders was determined to be useless. Before the
investigation began, the door of which the knob was reported to rattle
was left open and taped to where it would not latch then closed to.
The video equipment recorded this door opening and closing on its own.
As with the motion detector, no one was in the area when this happened.
A follow up is needed to test any of the evidence collected and see
if it can be recreated. We would like to offer a big thanks to the people
of the Hollywood Theater for allowing us to investigate their business.
